Black Girl Nerds: Troubles with Natural 4C Hair at the Salon http://blackgirlnerdy.blogspot.com/2013/07/troubles-with-natural-4c-hair-at-salon.html?m=1
So you know what your hair type is this would be the codes to go by. All the tips I can give are for the 4b/4c women. The best advice I can give to those women would be never to expect your hair to miraculously change into the 3b/3c or even 4a texture. Embrace your fro and what it’s capable of. Not everyone is going to rock ‘natural hair’ and look like Solange. It’s just as good if not greater to look like Erykah Badu too. ;)

beautifulmisconception- asked: Any tips for protective styles for NL hair? I'm relaxed, btw! Thank you.
I don’t know much about styling relaxed hair but protective styling is practically the same for naturals and relaxed hair. You have many options. Here are a few:
- Wear pretty silk scarves over hair
- Wear braids in cute styles, including adding extensions or not to achieve: box braids, milkmaid (heidi) braids, jumbo cornrows, french braids, braided ponytail… (if you are braiding along the hairline be sure it is not close to the scalp or pulling at the scalp in any way)
- Bantu Knots
